If my 82 year old Dad can do it…so can you!
For the past 12 days my Dad has been messaging me every day after he walks on the treadmill. He’s been doing 20 minutes a day (10 min in the morning and 10 min in the afternoon)
Now I’m loving Dad’s approach for 2 big reasons:
#1. He’s starting off slow and not overdoing it.
#2. He’s got himself an accountability partner (me!) to keep him focused on the new habit.
Because he’s starting off slow and not overdoing it…there’s a greater likelihood he will stick with his new habit.
I’ve seen some people get so excited about starting the new habit of exercise that they completely overdo it in the first few days. Then they end up so sore that it discourages them from continuing or even worse…they end up injuring themselves. When you begin a new habit…start small.
Also be like Dad and get yourself an accountability partner! Could be a friend, a family member, a coach or a support group. This greatly increases your chances of success with your new habit!
Super proud of you Dad…keep it up!🏃♀️❤️
What new habit will YOU begin? Or if you just started a new one, how will you stay on track? Make a plan and get started today!
I’m rooting for you.
